Just a few articles up and a few days into Soul Candy as a live and pulsing site out there for the world to taste and see, I’m sitting down to write an official hello and welcome.  Hello, and welcome!

No matter what anybody tells you or tries to hide behind, there is something incredibly, seductively voyeuristic about reading someone else’s intimate thoughts about life, love, and the aethers of spirit.  Parallel to this, there is an equally exhibitionist-like quality to purposefully exposing your own mental proclivities and spiritual innards to the world with a blog.  The dance back and forth between reader and writer–the ebb and flow, give and take that takes place in the airwaves between us–is the magick that binds us.

I created Soul Candy because I believe that I need it, and that you need it, too. Something is missing out there, and a mostly humble streak cloaked in necessary light arrogance makes me think I can help fill the void with words that are one part Wisdom, one part Entertainment, one part Truth, and one part Miscellaneous Whimsy and Nonsense.

Spiritual articles are often too frilled or lofty and without that down-to-earth sense that makes it practical to soak in the knowledge. Straight-up blog writing is often too much of a diary and not enough a serving of something truly useful to the reader. If I’m lucky, and I practice, perhaps I can strike a balance that makes Soul Candy feed you and I both the nourishing words we need and deserve to share.

I want this blog to be intimate, soulful, and pleasurable for you. I want it to feel like a place you arrive at after a long day of work, a place where you can thrive and bask in the good energy.  I want the words to wrap around you, embrace you, kiss the tender places in your soul and make you feel better for having come here.

If you leave lighter, more inspired, then I have done well.  If you leave thinking something that opens your mind, your heart, or your spirit, I have succeeded. If you come back and return more than once, I will feel gratefully enchanted by your presence.

Soul Candy will be a vibrant adventure for me, an experiment in my own depth of soul and my ability to weave words that touch you and strike your chords of joy.  What are your chords of joy? Please be my teacher, my friend, my compassionate companion along the way, leaving love notes where you feel inclined to do so, remarks and quips that show me what you like, what you question, what you need.  Treat me like a lover of your mind…teach me how to touch your brain and spirit in the perfect spots of intellectual and spiritual ecstasy. I want to please you. As a writer, a nurturer, a blushing faery vixen of laughter and a compassionate shaman, I will delight in making you glow and smile. It will illuminate me, too.  We will rise to bliss together.

Thank you for tasting the sweet, honey-coated words of Soul Candy. The pantry here is wide open to you, like an old friend would welcome you into the kitchen and give you free reign to take anything without asking.

Now if you’ll excuse me, dear reader friend and soul journeyer, I have a vein to open. My lifeblood is the secret ingredient to Soul Candy, and one that I hope makes every sugary word all the more magickal for us.
